The After School Club
Crossroads Care runs a number of After School Clubs in the Brentwood and Basildon areas for children with a disability.
Each Club is run by a team of Crossroads Care staff and volunteers and offers a range of suitable activities including a craft table, ball games, Lego and soft clay. We also arrange outings for the children to local venues such as Sea World and ten-pin bowling.
Our Clubs aim to help and encourage the children to interact socially and to make friends, something they do not always have the opportunity to do at school. Parents just have to drop their children off at the club - transport, manned by two carer support workers, is arranged to take the children home.
The Family
We know it can be difficult for parents to give quality time to the brothers and sisters of children with a disability. The After Schol Club gives parents a much valued opportunity to dedicate time exclusively to their other children when they come home from school.

Our After School Clubs are funded by Aiming High for Disabled Children, a central government programme designed to help disabled children, young people and their families get the support and chances they need to live ordinary lives. For more information about AHDC in Essex, click here.
